Mental Health Technicians provide support and supervision for the Adult Behavioral Psychology Department.   The Tech ensure continuity of care and help to meet the department goals as directed by the health care team. The Tech will perform patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) will assume responsibility and accountability for the adult and geriatric patients undergoing continuous monitoring for cardiac, post-surgical, respiratory, and/or psychiatric diagnoses. The CCU RN will often be active participants in bedside procedures with physicians. He/She will be responsible for certain specialty equipment and procedures such as managing arterial lines, ventilators, hypothermia protocol, and performing peritoneal dialysis. As a CCU RN, he/she will be part of the Rapid Response Team and will assist hospital staff in assessing, treating and transferring (if needed) deteriorating patients to the appropriate unit. He/She will provide appropriate care and comfort needs for the well-being of the patients by assessing, administering medications as ordered and educating patients and family members about active treatment plans and goals. 2-South is an adult psychiatric unit. The Adult Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) will assume responsibility and accountability for the care of adult psychiatric patients with mental health diagnoses. The RN will complete a psychiatric nursing assessment on each assigned patient admitted to the unit. The Adult Psychiatric RN identifies, and documents patient needs based on subjective and objective data. Initiates a nursing care plan, identifying and documenting a nursing diagnosis/diagnoses from the psychiatric nursing assessment. Documents long and short-term goals on the nursing care plan.
