The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) will assume responsibility and accountability for the adult and geriatric patients undergoing continuous monitoring for cardiac, post-surgical, respiratory, and/or psychiatric diagnoses. The CCU RN will often be active participants in bedside procedures with physicians. He/She will be responsible for certain specialty equipment and procedures such as managing arterial lines, ventilators, hypothermia protocol, and performing peritoneal dialysis. As a CCU RN, he/she will be part of the Rapid Response Team and will assist hospital staff in assessing, treating and transferring (if needed) deteriorating patients to the appropriate unit. He/She will provide appropriate care and comfort needs for the well-being of the patients by assessing, administering medications as ordered and educating patients and family members about active treatment plans and goals. The CCU RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures, and standards of the Health System. The Home Health RN meets patient where they are assessing the patient and home environment for contributing factors to disease process exacerbations. The Home Health RN provides medication and disease process education, conducts assessments, wound care, intravenous therapies as well as lab draws. The Home Health RN will provide care to a wide-range of diagnoses such as COPD, CHF and orthopedic patients. The RN will utilize the nursing process in the provision of care and will practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and the policies, procedures and standards of the Health System.
